5 Things to Do in Toronto This Winter

Tis’ the season of snow and cold weather but don’t let that get you down there are still plenty of family friendly activities for you to enjoy. Embrace the season and check out our 5 Things to Do in Toronto This Winter.

Skating and Hockey

So this first one maybeSkating | Things to do in Toronto a little biased considering we are Canadian and all, but heading over to Toronto’s outdoor rinks is a great way to spend an evening or afternoon. Whether you are looking for a pick up game of hockey or just a leisurely skate there are countless rinks around the city; the most extravagant being Nathan Phillips Square. Don’t have skates? No problem they have a rental program.

Sliding | Things to do in Toronto
Well thanks to the lake effect we usually get more than a little snow throughout the winter and you know what they say, “when life gives you snow… go tobogganing”. Some of my fondest memories as a kid are from the sliding hill, blazing down the mountain laughing with my family in tow. Toronto has no shortage of good sliding hills so check them out.

Toronto Zoo

With over 10km of trails and interactive exhibits a trip to the zoo is the perfect family activity. Trek along the trail and observe Canadian and tundra animals in their natural habitats then warm up in one of the five indoor pavilions. With reduced winter pricing heading to the zoo to hang with some fury friends is one of the things to do in Toronto that won’t break the bank.

Bloor-Yorkville Icefest

Icefest | Things to do in Toronto
Every February brings in an iceberg amount of ice and some of the most talented ice sculptors from around the world to the Bloor-Yorkville Icefest. Admission is free and the experience is priceless. So grab a fresh cup of hot chocolate and tour around the magnificent outdoor art gallery.

It’s cold outside so what better time to experience some of the best cuisine that Toronto has to offer. The prix fixe program combines delicious food and affordable prices. With events that vary from cooking lessons and taste testings to dinner theatre this is definitely one of the coolest things to do in Toronto this winter.
