Located in Barrie, Ontario Horseshoe offers an all encompassing resort experience. With 26 alpine runs, a half pipe and cross country ski trails there are runs for all skill levels, they also have night skiing for the entire hill. There is onsite accommodations that are pet friendly as well as a spa for when your body needs a break from the hill. This is a nice family getaway at a reasonable price.

Located in Blue Mountain Village about an hour drive north of Toronto, it is some of the best skiing in southern Ontario. As the largest resort in Ontario, the hills are always very maintained and of the 42 runs 30 of them are lit for night skiing. If you are new to skiing or snowboarding don’t worry there are daily lessons available. There is even a live webcam to check conditions for yourself.

Dagmar Ski Resort

Dagmar is loaded with cross country trails, 17 alpine runs and 4 terrain parks for all of you daredevils out there, Dagmar has something for everyone. Situated in the heart of the Durham region, in the small town of Ashburn, the hill is only an hour drive from Toronto. Their learn to ski programs are perfect for anyone just getting into the sport, also very affordable.

This beautiful resort offers everything from a luxurious spa to fine dining where you can sample some of their inhouse wines from their very own winery. Their 17 alpine runs are accented by a halfpipe and terrain park and if you don’t have your own gear, no need to worry they offer rentals.

Mount St. Louis Moonstone
Mount St. Louis has 36 runs, the longest being a 2 kilometer ski and over 170 ski acres mean there is no shortage of space. Although there aren’t onsite accommodations the drive from Toronto is only about an hour along with local hotels in Barrie.

Located near Milton this ski hill is a little smaller than the other ones on this list, but is unique in the sense that is can be accessed via public transit. Local Milton buses make regular trips from the Milton GO station to the hill. The very affordable lift passes make Glen Eden perfect for the not so hardcore skiers and snowboarders who are just looking to get out enjoy the winter for a little while.
