Toronto is home to over 2.6 million people, making it the fifth most populated city in North America. It is core of Canada’s commercial environment, and is home to the TSX and some of the nations largest banks. Toronto will also host the 2015 Pan Am games. As Toronto Movers, we’ve been helping people move to and from Toronto for over 30 years.
Toronto is also the condo capital of Canada. If you look into the Toronto skyline, you will see massive amounts of construction taking place in order to fill the demand for condos. It’s important to recognize when moving into a Toronto condo that your building may have several restrictions on parking. This is important to figure out because most moving trucks are around 30 feet in length. Also, make sure to book one of the elevators for moving day. Doing all of this well before moving day will save you from a lot of stress.
If you’re moving to Toronto for school, Toronto is home to some of the finest academic institutions in Canada. The University of Toronto is home to over 60,000 students and is consistently ranked among the top universities in the world. There are also many college certificates which lead to industry jobs upon graduation.
If you moving to Toronto with your family, there are many different areas outside of the city core where it is suitable to raise a family.
As far as sports go, if you’re a Leafs fan you’re in luck. The Toronto Maple Leafs hold the biggest fan base in professional hockey, and the large majority of fans (obviously) reside in Toronto. The Leafs aren’t the end all and be all when it comes to sports in the city. The Toronto Blue Jays offer a friendly price (tickets as low as $10) for their games.
Toronto is really whatever you want it to be. There are great musicals at The Queen Elizabeth Theatre, awesome parks and recreational activities around the GTA and a vibrant nightlife.
