2. What is an Estimate – One of Bronte Movers consultants will come to your home and take a walk through with you to see all of your goods that will be moved. It takes approximately 20 minutes while the consultant fills out the estimate form. The estimate form will have pricing, hours of work, boxes needed, and special requirements for the move. The price on the move is guaranteed within 10% of the total cost (excluding long distant moves). Long distance moves are calculated by weight and will be emailed to you.
3. To Book Our Services – For local moves no deposit required.
For long-distance moves, a 10% non-refundable deposit is required to register the move. The deposit will be credited to you final moving costs.
4. We Confirm The Details 72 – 48 Hours Before Your Move or Pack Date – we will contact you by phone a few days before your move or pack to reconfirm your start time, addresses, and service requirements. If for some reason, we have not been able to reach you it is important that you contact our dispatch office 24 hours prior to your move.
5. Our Crew is Dispatched to Your Location – The crew that has been assigned to your move will be dispatched and arrive by your scheduled start time. In the event that they are delayed due to traffic or any other unforeseen circumstances they will contact you to advise you of the delay.
6. Review Of Goods, Contact Information, And Services Provided – – for local moves when our crew arrives to your residence, you will be introduced to the crew. You will take the crew through your residence pointing out all the furniture and boxes going to your new residence. If there are multiple drop offs it is important to point out what pieces are going to what address, as this determines how they are loaded on to the truck. The crew will then lay down floor runners to protect your floors and bring in any wardrobe or picture boxes for you to use for your move.
7. Packing – When you choose Bronte Movers to assist with packing your household items, our team will begin with a walk though of the home. You’ll have the opportunity to point out specific rooms or items you’d like us to pack, ensuring everything is handled just the way you would like. The team will then begin to bring in the required materials and get to work.
8. If Moving To Storage or Long Distance – If your goods are moving to storage or long distance, an inventory of the items you are shipping and their condition at origin will be created. It is important that you review this Inventory with the driver to ensure you agree with the Inventory.
9. Wrapping – All upholstered furniture will be wrapped in shrink wrap to prevent damage or stains. Mattress and boxsprings must be bagged before going into our trucks. Any other furniture will be blanket wrapped in the truck for protection.
10. Determination of Final Charges and Arrival Date – Local Moving: The Driver will have your bill of lading and calculate the amount of hours of your move and any other charges. The Driver will have you sign the bill of lading and collect the monies at the end of your move.
Long Distance Moving: The next step is to weigh (scale) your shipment to determine the final charges. Before the truck arrives at your home it is weighed. This gives us the ‘Light Weight’ (Tare) of the truck. After the truck is loaded we return to the scale to get the ‘Heavy Weight’ of your truck (Gross weight). The Tare weight is subtracted from the Gross weight to give us the ‘Net Weight’ or the weight of your shipment. This information is forwarded to our Dispatch by the Van Foreman and within 24 business hours the final charges are forwarded to you by phone or email. You will also be given an approximate arrival date at your new residence which will coincide with the delivery period on your Bill of Lading.
11. Notification of Delivery at Destination – Long Distance Moves: The Driver will be in contact with you at least 24 hours before arrival at your new residence. At this time your final delivery date and time will be agreed upon.
12. Payment – For local moves the driver will calculate all the charges for the day and will include travel time back to our offices. Should the move be completed before 4:30 pm Monday to Friday charges will be taken from the credit card provided when the crew arrives back at the office. If not, the charges will be put through the next morning. Long-distance moves are all charged to the credit card provided. We accept: VISA, Master Card, or E – Transfers. Payable to info@brontemovers.ca
13. Unloading of Your Goods – Upon arrival, the crew will lay floor runners to protect your floors in the most traveled areas of your new home.
Long Distance Moves:You are required to check the items off of your Inventory and to verify that the condition of the items is the same as when loaded at your origin residence. You will also be required to instruct the crew as to the room and location you would like the items delivered to. If there is any discrepancy (damaged or missing item) noted on the Inventory, it must be recorded at this time on the Delivery Exceptions column on your Inventory Form. Record the exception beside the corresponding number of the damaged or missing item and ask the Driver for a Claim Form and follow the instructions on the Form for submitting your claim.
14. Final Bill of Lading and Inventories – Once everything is unloaded and you have confirmed that you have received everything, you will be given a final signed copy of the Bill of Lading and Inventories for your records. Don’t forget to submit your moving expenses to your accountant; most moving expenses are tax deductible.
